Who is Salt?

Good question. I'm gonna take that as a comment... for now.

Who is Salt? Apparently, it's Angelina Jolie acting as a female Russian spy named Evelyn Salt. And she's like a double double double agent or something. (I dunno, I haven't watched the movie yet :S)

Anyways, there's all this hype about not knowing who this Salt is. If you think about it, it's a pretty neat way of advertising - just keeping to the same 'theme line' and sticking it on radio ads, tv ads, pre-movie ads, bus ads, bus stop ads, billboard ads, newspaper ads etc. It's everywhere!

Even MSN is subliminaling messaging the movie, 'Salt'. Here's some examples:
  • Traitor, Hero, Fugitave... Who is Salt?
  • Click here to learn WHO IS SALT?
  • Angelina Jolie stars in SALT. But who is salt?
  • Can't make it on election day, Saturday 21st August? Vote earl- oh wait
Have some posters:

So... Who is Salt? http://whoissalt.com/ Despite the name of the website, it's about the movie.

Until I find out Who is Salt?,

P.S. you can use it in your everyday friends vocab as a 'joke around' phrase!

Major train delays as rail lines closed - SMH

Major train delays as rail lines closed

This kinda affected me, in that all the expresses services from Hornsby to City via Epping were delayed at least 45mins, which included my normal school train, but luckily, I was savied by library duty! so I caught some very earlier train. :D

Damaged overhead wiring near Beecroft forced CityRail to suspended city-bound trains between Hornsby and Epping, leaving travellers on the Northern Line as well as the Newcastle and Central Coast Line with delays of about 45 minutes.
...
A CityRail spokesman said he was not sure what caused the damage to the wiring, but expected repairs to be completed by midday.
...
"Commuters travelling to the city on the Northern Line this morning should leave home early if they can, as major delays are expected. Buses are replacing trains for some stations, but travellers should consider catching a train on the North Shore Line instead, if they are able to travel direct to North Shore Line stations," the spokesman said.

Numbers up for rote learning in maths - SMH

Numbers up for rote learning in maths

Interesting article from the Sydney Morning Herald a friend showed me. And, it's about maths.

"The thing that makes mathematics very, very difficult to learn is if you try to learn rules without any reasons," Professor Stacey said. ''What we need to be able to do is to focus on how we teach children the reasons why those rules work, not just what the rules are.''
...
''Once you know the reasons behind the rules you've then got a lot less to learn because as soon as things start to be connected you don't need to learn them all as separate things,'' she said.
