DIARY HK/SHANGHAI ft. WORLD EXPO - DAY 13

The sun had not risen yet, but we were already awake. After catching a taxi to HKIA, we managed to check-in - and I say MANAGED coz last time we weighed our luggage, we were over the limit. Anyway, after managing to squeeeeze in a few extra kilos onto the plane, we ate breakfast. After breakfast we went to gate 26. There I did a quick fb status update, then boarded QF88, but also AF8079 - I have no idea why AirFrance decided to combine in a flight from HKG to SYD :S maybz it came from Paris or something, stopped over in Hong Kong, and is on its way to Sydney...

After a whiel, we were on the tarmac and taxiing our way to the runway. The captain said something like [in a fair dinkum Aussie accent]: "Hong Kong airport is very busy today... There's a queue of 4-5 planes in front of us so we might be waiting 10-15mins..." So we waited - Cathay Pacific... Cathay Pacific... DragonAir... WOOOOAAAHHHH A CATHAY PACIFIC DRIVING LITERALLY ALONG SIDE OUR PLANE, ALMOST TOUCHING WINGTIP TO WINGTIP... Cathay Pacific... China Eastern... then us. s

In the air, the inflight entertainment system wasn't working :( so they decided to shut the whole thing down, waste 15mins of our time, and got it working :) Then I had a movie-marathon which included 'She's Out Of My League', 'Kings Of Mykonos Wog Boy 2', 'How To Train Your Dragon' (Y), 'Tooth Fairy'

At 2021, we officially landed in Sydney. And was greeted by dad and sis :D
We were home.
